Driver falls asleep at wheel, causing fatal car crash

In Alameda and across California, one of the most dangerous kinds of car accidents is a rear-end crash. People are not expecting it, so they have little chance to avoid it or brace themselves. Often, the vehicle that crashes into them is traveling at a high rate of speed or is a larger vehicle, exacerbating the damage and potential for injury. When there is a rear-end accident, those who have been injured or lost a loved one should understand all they will face after it has happened.

A rear-end accident led to the death of an 8-year-old girl. The accident occurred in a construction zone on the freeway and involved three vehicles. A Dodge traveling in the left lane did not slow in time to avoid the vehicles in front of it that were moving slowly because of the construction. It hit the back of the Toyota that the girl was in.

It was discovered that the driver of the Dodge was asleep at the wheel. The girl was in the back seat of the Toyota when the crash happened. After it was hit, the Toyota was pushed into another car. The girl’s parents were also injured. The driver of the Dodge is not believed to have been under the influence. The investigation into this accident is ongoing.

Losing a child can have a negative effect on a family’s life forever. The sudden shock of a fatal accident will have a profound influence on everyone in the family. There will be funeral costs, the emotional impact of the unexpected death, pain and suffering and more. While a legal filing is not sufficient to ease the pain of the death, it can help with certain issues so the family can try to move forward.
